Puppy Pre-School

Puppy Pre-School at Love on a Leash Dog Training and AgilityPuppy Pre-School classes meet for 7 weeks, but the first meeting is without dogs. Puppies 10-25 weeks of age with two shots are eligible. All classes at Love on a Leash, LLC use positive motivational training methods.

Puppy Pre-School classes introduce the obedience foundation of attention, and cover basic obedience commands and manners as well as socialization to people, children, and other puppies. The course includes confidence-building exercises using agility obstacles. We also discuss management strategies to help with problem behaviors and breed related tendencies. Specific topics include:

  • Sit/Down/Stand
  • Stay
  • Wait
  • Come
  • Walk without pulling
  • Attention to name
  • Don't jump up
  • Appropriate play
  • Accept handling from owners, vets, and groomers
